Welcome back for our first week in the last half term of the year! It has been a wonderful first week back and we have got stuck into our new learning topic 'Under the Sea'.
The children have engaged in various activities to support their learning about this topic including sea animal collages, making starfish, exploring sea themed sensory trays, stories about sea animals, plenty of water play with sea creatures, bubbles in the gardens, cutting and sticking fish activities and so much more!
The children have enjoyed some baking this week with the Caterpillars making biscuits and the baking club Butterflies making pizzas!
Our rolling snack in the Butterfly room has been a success this week and we have now got into a rhythm and the children are benefitting from the new snack station! It has been a great opportunity for the children to learn independent skills as well as practice good hygiene and table manners. It has also meant that the children have been very engaged in their play and can develop their ideas further without being disrupted.
Reminders and notes:
- LUNCHES - please ensure you order a school lunch by midnight the night before, you will no longer be able to order this on the day at reception. If you are unable to do this, please provide a packed lunch for your child.
- LABELLING - we appreciate you labelling all children's bottles, clothing and bags (including lunch bags) as this really helps avoid confusion, thank you.
- SNACK - we really appreciate the donations this week for snack, it has been lovely to have you involved in part of our day and routine. Both the school house (Caterpillars) and preschool room (Butterflies) would love some donations next week that we can share with the children.
- SUNCREAM & SUNHATS - please ensure you have applied sun cream to your child before coming to preschool. We do have sun cream here to use as a top up during the day. We also thank you for providing a sun hat each day, if possible one to stay at preschool for those sneaky sunny days.

- 25th & 27th June + 3rd July - school readiness play and stays (TBC)
- Friday 12th July: Preschool graduation
